My Poetry : Aug 29, 2005
Voice of a river

Heard the voice of a river
As it cried with guiltiness and anger
It was tainted with unforgiving faults, and never-ending discontent
I stood on its shore and glance with compassion
And with a trembling tone I spoke
Begged to know the reasoning behind the tears which flowed
And in that very moment I thought of you
The bond we shared;
The vows we declared,
And my broken heart, which can never be repaired
So I’m writing these words to let your heart know
That the river never cried
And those bitter tears poured from depths of my inner eye…

Letter to Our Mother

They robbed you blind
Took away your children,
And made them orphans on foreign land
Some were thrown in the seas,
And some were brutally murdered before our eyes
I know you cried,
But I also know you salvage the souls of those who died
Genocide was on their mind;
Thus they left that deadly virus behind
But we’re still here, braver than ever
We were once separated from their common wealth,
But your love kept us together
Never will we ever lose the love we have for our dearest mother
Help us to remember to be serene, joyous and kind to each other
This is our letter,
Our letter to mother

TO MOTHER AFRICA***
