Topic: LACK OF PRIDE
i realise ghanaians are not proud of their country or their language(s).not like the nigerians.i find it very strange that parents don't teach their children their home language and choose to teach them english instead.you meet someone who has spent his whole life in ghana and they can't speak twi, ewe,ga etc.its really sad.another thing is the whole english name thing.you find so many ghanaians who prefer to uae their english names than their ghanaian names!i have many friends from other african countries, and about 99% of them use their african names!im the only one out of my african friends who even has an english name!

i think there is alot of truth to that. i find alot of africans using their english names. but i think that africans in the diaspora tend to want assimilate in the present culture that they live and there is nothing wrong with wanting to comform but to not use your proud african or ghanaian name is sad because it's almost dening your history. am sure these individauls still have alot of pride in where they came from and must represent that to the fullest. ghana stand up.

I think you are write, you believe in the spirit of Nationalism. That's good. But the problem is that our languages are not standardize, why I'm I saying this, is because in Ghana there are too many ethnic groups than in other African countries. So it makes it very difficult to adopt one language. And also tribal discrimination is in its high ascendancy in Ghana, where some tribes sees themselves as superior to other tribes and when a person from an "inferior" tribe speaks his own local language people turn to laugh at.
